Photo Editing – Before & After

It is always a challenge to experiment with artistic tools in photo editing programs. There are so many options within each tool and the final outcome is solely based on personal preference. Thought I would give it try and share the results! On the left is the original photograph taken in Pienza, Italy. It is a charming little town with many different little shops. The one on the right is the edited version. Editing was done using Topaz Studio 2, Nik Collection, and Photoshop Elements 21 to fine tune lighting and sharpening.

Landscape Abstract Photography – Golden Gate Bridge

Canon EOS Rebel T3; 55 mm; f/22; 1/20 sec; ISO 100

Was going through some old photographs and found this one of the Golden Gate Bridge taken quite a while ago when I first got into photography. At that time, I was taking an abstract photography class. It is always fun and motivating to try something outside of your comfort level!

Flower Photography – Close Up

Sony 6000a with Canon Macro Lens: f/8; 1/250 sec; ISO 2500; 60mm

Normally I shoot most of my flower photographs in bright lit settings. This time I tried something new. It was evening and the room was lit with one dim lamp. By really increasing my ISO it picked up the variance of light illuminating the flower casting a sheen effect. Think I will try this more often. Would like to hear any suggestions for other indoor lighting. I don’t usually photograph indoors. But given it’s winter in the Midwest. I am desperate.
